Lexy — Veterinary Assistant

Lexy joined VNIoC in August 2025, bringing with her a wealth of experience as a veterinary assistant, having previously worked for a primary care veterinarian, oncology and internal medicine specialties, an Indexx lab, and a humane society shelter.

An area native, she says, "I heard how great Dr. McDonnell is and what a great practice VNIoC is, so I jumped at the chance to work here. I'm learning something new every day–neuro is a whole new world, and I'm loving it." Lexy hopes to advance her skills by becoming a Licensed Veterinary Technician through Penn Foster’s online program–as time allows.

Client communication is at the heart of how Lexy approaches her job. She explains, “Kindness goes so far when you’re dealing with stressed pet parents and their pets.”

Lexy is also a single mom to a little one who she says is “a spicy Aries.” In her free time she also enjoys hiking, especially in the mountains, painting and fostering orphan kittens.
